Nissan and Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg are set to shake up the SEMA 2024 show with their latest creation: the Frontier TARMAC Concept. This isn’t your average truck; it’s a lowered, high-powered drift machine that pays homage to the golden age of performance trucks.
Forsberg, known for his daring drifting stunts, saw an opportunity to bring back the thrill of performance trucks. “Twenty years ago, performance trucks were all the rage,” he said. “It’s time to revive that excitement.”
The TARMAC Concept is more than just a showpiece; it’s a testing ground for future NISMO performance parts for the Frontier. Under the hood, a supercharged 3.8-liter V6 engine delivers a whopping 440 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a custom NISMO suspension and brembo brakes, the TARMAC is ready to conquer any track.
The exterior is equally impressive, with widebody fenders, a carbon fiber tailgate spoiler, and custom 20-inch NISMO wheels. Inside, Recaro seats and a custom steering wheel provide the perfect driving environment.
While the TARMAC Concept is a one-off, it showcases the potential of the Nissan Frontier as a performance platform. It’s a reminder that trucks can be fun, powerful, and stylish.
